Though often used interchangeably, yams and sweet potatoes are different. Yams are starchier, while sweet potatoes are sweeter.

Totally agree! A lot of people don't realize the difference between yams and sweet potatoes. Yams have that earthy, starchy vibe, while sweet potatoes bring the sweetness to the table. Both are delicious, but they definitely shine in different dishes!
