Thousands Protest in Israel Demanding Hostage Release Agreement

Tens of thousands of Israelis have taken to the streets in protest following the recovery of the bodies of six hostages, who had been held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip by military forces. This event has sparked widespread national outrage.

Protesters, many draped in Israeli flags, gathered in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and other cities, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government of failing to secure a deal for the release of the remaining hostages taken by Hamas in the October 7 attacks.

While the protests on Sunday were mostly peaceful, some demonstrators breached police barriers and blocked a major highway in Tel Aviv.

This serves as a major Israeli labor union, Histadrut, announced a nationwide general strike on Monday, demanding a resolution for the hostage situation.
