The pistol shrimp is only 2cm in size, but it has been described as being the worldās loudest animal. The bursts its claw which then closes to produce a bubble at the speed of light, the bubble bursts and produces a supersonic bang that is as loud as a Concordeās sonic boom which can go up to 230 decibels, which is louder than the sound of a gunshot. This powerful snap also creates temperatures of about 4,400Ā°C almost as that of the sun thereby helping it to paralyse its prey.
