In Star Trek: Starship Voyager, ship’s commander Kathryn Janeway portrayed by Kate Mulgrew did not aim for foes although her position of USS Voyager ‘s captaincy in the uncharted territories of Delta Quadrant made her face new species of aliens. In the show’s run, Janeway and her crew fought several enemies, the first of which was Kazon and Vidiians in early seasons and Species 8472 and Hirogen at later stages. The Borg also joined the ranks of the continued threatening enemies from the fourth season onwards. In addition to these foreign species, Janeway also encountered other individual beings/ groups in the Delta who had some personal grudges to settle with her or other crew members of Voyager and there were few groups who were actually against the actions of Voyager because of which they actually had very personal and violent encounters with the crew of Voyager on the way back to the Alpha quadrant.
