‘Unruly’ Vietnamese woman arrested in NAIA — BI

A Vietnamese woman was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for unruly behavior, the Bureau of Immigration said on Wednesday. The BI said the 19-year old woman was about to board her flight to Hanoi at NAIA Terminal 3 last July 1 when she suddenly caused a scene at the immigration clearance. “During inspection, she aggressively snatched her passport from the immigration officer and caused a scene by throwing herself on the floor and shouting,” the bureau said in a statement. “She reportedly streamed her outburst on social media, and caused disturbance in the immigration departure area.” The BI said it sought assistance from its Border Control and Intelligence Unit, airport police, and the Philippine National Police’s Aviation Security Group. The bureau added the woman was brought to its head office in Manila for inquest proceedings and was later transferred to its detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City pending deportation.
