What are the differences between Old World and New World Pinot Noir?

I've been trying to expand my palate and noticed there are distinct differences between Old World and New World Pinot Noir wines. Can someone explain these differences? I'm curious about flavor profiles, winemaking techniques, and any recommendations for a newbie like me!

Old World Pinot Noirs are typically lighter-bodied, with higher acidity and more earthy, complex flavors like mushrooms and leather. They tend to be more restrained and elegant. Think Burgundy, France.
