Why are some sports more prone to injuries than others?

I get that contact sports are more injury-prone, but it seems like some non-contact sports also have high injury rates. I’m thinking of stuff like gymnastics or track and field where there’s less contact but still a ton of injuries. Is it the nature of the movements, or are athletes just pushing themselves too hard? Curious if anyone has insight or examples from different sports!

You're spot on! Non-contact sports like gymnastics and track can be tough on the body because of the intense physical demands and repetitive movements. Athletes often push themselves to the limit, which can lead to overuse injuries. It’s not always about contact—sometimes it’s just the nature of the sport!
