Why do airplane windows have tiny holes?

I was staring out of the plane window the other day and noticed that little hole at the bottom of the window. Turns out it’s called a “bleed hole,” and it’s there to regulate cabin pressure between the layers of glass. Without it, the windows would crack under pressure. I’ve flown so many times but never thought about it until now. Does anyone else think this is kind of a genius design? Also, do all airplanes have it?
