Why does Spam taste different in different countries? Is it just me or are the international versions slightly less salty?

I’ve tried Spam in a few countries and it always seems like the flavor or saltiness changes. Is this just my imagination, or does anyone else notice this? Is it a regional ingredient thing? Would love to know if others have noticed these flavor differences.
