Why don’t goalkeepers in soccer wear hats anymore?

I was watching some old soccer footage, and I noticed goalkeepers used to wear those little caps all the time, especially in sunny or rainy conditions. But now, it seems like no one does it anymore, even in broad daylight. Did FIFA ban them? Or did goalies collectively decide hats aren’t cool anymore? Just curious if anyone knows what happened!

Great observation! No ban, but better stadium lighting and changing gear trends made them rare. Goalies just moved on from the old-school look.
