Your brain can play tricks on you when you stare into a mirror too long

There’s a thing called the “strange-face illusion.” If you stare at your reflection in low light for about 10 minutes, your brain starts warping your face into something terrifying—think melting features, monster-like distortions, or even seeing other faces. Scientists don’t fully know why this happens, and frankly, I don’t need them to. I’ll just avoid mirrors at night.
