An interesting tool for teaching

I work with children and am always looking for simple ways to get them interested in history and time. They quickly get bored with ordinary textbooks. Is there something easier and more lively?

I can share my own experience. I started using https://calendaroftheday.com/ as an additional tool for conversation. Every day is an opportunity to talk about a specific event or fact related to the date. Children like that the information is concise and tied to "today." This way, learning becomes less abstract and more connected to the real time in which they live.
