Catriona Gray, Miss Universe 2018 representing the Philippines, has been deeply involved in HIV advocacy even before her pageant success. As a pro bono ambassador for LoveYourself, a key partner of the global Epic project led by FHI 360, funded by PEPFAR and USAID, Catriona discussed her journey at the AIDS 2024 conference in Munich. She shared how personal loss inspired her entry into advocacy at a young age, highlighting the importance of ongoing learning in HIV awareness. Catriona emphasized the impact of social media in reaching out to new clients for LoveYourself's services, but also lamented the persistent stigma faced by the LGBTQI+ community in HIV advocacy. She expressed gratitude for supportive partnerships like FHI 360 and called for continued collaboration to expand the reach and impact of community-driven HIV initiatives.
