I had had a problem of fungus and soggy patches but ever since I had acquired a Sprinkler Timer I have not experienced these problems. I have discovered a very tough and multi-zone one at abodelook which has the setting of cycle and soak. It assists the water in actually reaching the roots as opposed to being washed off to the drive way. There has never been a smoother lawn of mine. Definitely recommend visiting their DIY and Tools section in case you are attempting to repair your watering schedule.
