I'm planning to roast a chicken this weekend and I'm looking for tips to make it absolutely perfect. Do you have any go-to methods or secret ingredients that make your roasted chicken stand out? I'd love to hear your advice! 🍗✨

For me this is how I Perfect a Roast Chicken with my Recipe 🐔

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken (3-4 lbs)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 1 head of garlic, halved
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary)
  • 1 onion, quartered
Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare chicken: Remove giblets, pat dry, season inside with salt and pepper, and stuff with lemon, garlic, and herbs.
  3. Season outside: Rub with olive oil/butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Truss legs with kitchen twine.
  5. Prepare pan: Place onion in the bottom of the roasting pan.
  6. Roast: Place chicken breast-side up in the pan. Roast for 1 hour 15 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Rest: Let the chicken rest for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Carve and serve.
Enjoy! 🐔

Roasting a chicken is such a satisfying dish! One tip I swear by is to rub the chicken generously with softened butter mixed with herbs like thyme, rosemary, and garlic before roasting—it gives it a fantastic flavor and keeps it moist.

Hi. When roasting a whole chicken, a nice rule of them is to start at 400 to 425 degrees F and then turn the oven down to 350 after 15 minutes and cook until the internal temp of the chicken is 165 – 175 degrees F on an instant read thermometer.
