The earliest known sauce is garum, a fermented fish sauce used by the ancient Greeks and Romans. 🐟 It was a popular condiment used to flavor meats, vegetables, and even wine, much like soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce today. 🥩🥬🍾
 
Garum definitely has a fascinating history! It’s incredible how this ancient condiment laid the foundation for many of the sauces we use today. The way it was such a versatile addition to Roman cuisine reminds me of how certain modern sauces find their way into everything. Pretty amazing!
