I recently heard that anchovies are a secret ingredient in some cocktails! Apparently, bartenders use them as a salt source or blend them into a sort of brine to add this savory, umami depth to drinks. It sounds weird, but I guess it’s like how they use fish sauce in some savory dishes to boost flavor. Has anyone tried an anchovy-infused cocktail? I can’t decide if I’m intrigued or kind of grossed out. Would love to know if there’s a go-to drink that uses this!
