Why does orange juice taste terrible after brushing your teeth?

Okay, this might sound weird, but am I the only one who feels personally attacked by orange juice after brushing my teeth? Like, it goes from sweet and zesty to tasting like I licked a battery. Does anyone actually enjoy that combo, or is there some science-y reason behind this disaster?

Haha, you’re not alone! That nasty combo happens because toothpaste, especially minty ones, messes with your taste buds, making the sweetness of orange juice taste weirdly bitter and metallic 🤢🍊.

Brushing your teeth turns orange juice into a citrus nightmare because toothpaste messes with your taste buds, making it taste like pure regret!
