I decided to be a guinea pig. My 2017 RS3 was due for a DSG service and the shop recommended their premium fluid package which they call Advanced Transmission Oil Dubai. It's a fully synthetic racing formulation that supposedly has better thermal stability and friction consistency. I figured with the way I drive this car (spirited mountain roads on weekends), it might be worth the extra cost. It's only been two weeks but I have to say the shifts feel crisper and the engagement from a stop is smoother. Could be placebo, could be that my old fluid was just worn out. But I'm curious if anyone else has tried these premium fluids and noticed a real difference over the long term. Does it actually protect better? Does it last longer between changes? I'll report back in a year but would love to hear from anyone who's been using high end fluid for a while. Also, is there any risk to switching fluid types if I do a full flush?
